Tattoo Removal 08

Photo Retouching Techniques

Having worked on seven previous tattoo removal projects before this one, I had no intention of trying to clean the subject’s arm. Though it can be done, I did not have the knowledge at the time to fix it in such a way that would look acceptable. I believe there are enough patches of unaltered skin to use as sample areas, but to remove the arm tattoo would be difficult and extremely time consuming.

Instead, I focused on the more noticeable area of the back where part of his tattoo is visible above the collar of the shirt. Due to the small size of the tattoo relative to the subject, I was able to use a spot healing brush as my primary tool. I then used the clone stamp with a low opacity to restore any lost texture and color to the skin to nicely finish the project.
