Tattoo Removal 03

Photo Retouching Techniques

After my second attempt at tattoo removal in Photoshop, I thought it wise to try another simpler piece. This is the result of my third attempt. I removed the tattoos on the person’s hand who is holding the cell phone. Originally I wanted to remove the tattoo from the should of the person either in the cell phone photo or in actuality. When a tattoo covers up so much of the skin that I would need to match from, it poses a much more difficult challenge.

So instead I opted to just work on the small hand tattoos. I think my retouching turned out quite nicely. The dark tones and shadows of the photo do help to mask any imperfections, but I was not interested in adjusting levels or curves for the image as a whole. I kept the original photo as it was with the exception of the hand tattoos.
